Minbos: empowering agriculture industry

Phosphate production will contribute to the increase of world agricultural production, allowing an increase in the stability of food production. However, the high demand for low cost fertilizer-based commodities (phosphates) are pressing the imports of this importante resource for agricultural activities.

Recognizing this problem, Minbos’ activities in Angola embraces: research and development to evaluate extraction feasibility, setting of industrial units of beneficiation, calcination and granulation of the phosphate products and capacity building and trainning courses for the local staff.

With these activities, Minbos aims to enhance the national economic growth, in the mining, industrial and agriculture sectors, with social and environmental positive externalities.

More in concrete, part of the phosphatic product benefited (100 kt / year) will be directed to the Angolan agricultural sector, stimulating agricultural productivity, disseminating access to fertilizers and reducing the nutritional deficit of populations.
