Youth Villages: enabeling students to reach their full potential
Youth Villages, a program designed and implemented by Focus Education, is committed to solve a problem that affects thousands of Angolan teenagers that are at risk for reaching their full potential as active and productive citizens since they are in disadvantaged and unequal conditions with fewer opportunities to education, training, professional and personal development.
Considering the project final outcome: promoting a healthier, more peaceful and inclusive Angolan society, Focus Education’s activities encompass: design and building of complete infrastructure of villages, providing a comprehensive teaching and professional training and offering the emotional and social support through “mothers home” approach that substitute mothers and siblings presence when the young people are the villages.
As a result, more than 400 students were admitted and 95% were graduate. Also, around 150 students were integrated in professional internships and 100% found paid jobs.
